Border Walls

I believe that border walls divide more than they protect. While both statements are indeed true, the facts of the border dividing effect more towards how our culture reacts now more than ever. With the cultural barriers already, effects multiple things we do today. If we add a border wall it creates more of a barrier than it does good. Today with the border walls implemented it separates families from their loved ones, separates species from their herds, separates cultural aspects, and even separates religion. Borders create division because they create language barriers. If there is a barrier separating two different countries than it lessens the diversity of our wonderful cultural and country. A border not only causing separation in multiple ways but it also in the end causes hatred towards others because of how they react and respond towards the motion of the border being implemented. Borders end up creating more complications than they cause good. It causes other countries to start wars and causing seclusion from us from the rest of the world.

Ads and their psychological aspects

I believe that the ads are very different in their own way, which makes their intended audience each unique based off of how they are each shot. For instance with the Budweiser commercial its intended audience is obviously for the age group 21 and up. They are trying to strike the life of the party in these young adolescence and get them to think that beer is the way to go in order to be the life of the party. They try to target that specific age bracket because they are more prone to actually throw parties, whether that be college raves or a simple super bowl party. In the ad it implies that in order to have a great time you have to have a Budweiser beer in your hand.
The second ad is targeting  parents and young children. They are trying to imply that children need to eat a healthier option of breakfast, and that life cereal is that way. To the adults and parents it shows that they can truly get their kids to enjoy something that is a healthier variety and not even realize that it is in-fact a healthy breakfast item. Meanwhile to the kids it is trying to show them that life cereal is amazing and tastes wonderful, by showing that Mickey loves the cereal and can't seem to get enough of it it implies that the other children will love it just as much and want to continuously eat it non-stop sense giving a psychological effects on all the children that see that specific commercial.

College Writing

At the begging of the first semester of College, it was difficult to begin with. Things were hard going from being the baby of four kids and living with them, to living with a complete stranger wasn't as easy as I expected. There was allot of bumps down the road to get through the first semester. I had to deal with transitioning from roommates and dealing with the stress of school and family all at once. My mother had gotten into a car accident during the first semester causing me to have to go home for a week and try to juggle being in a hospital room all hours of the night and try to maintain keeping my grades in order and getting the homework in. I do however agree with Hjortshoj's idea that high school does prepare you to get into and get accepted to college, however it doesn't prepare you for college. With high school you rely mainly on parents and teachers to have a structure to keep your life in order, whereas college you have to time manage everything. Whether it be eating, sleeping, studying, going to class, working or anything of that nature it's all up to you in the end.  I feel that high school should not only prepare you for time management better but it should also better prepare you for the struggles of life interfering and having to figure out everything on your own.

In the second chapter it discusses listening, reading, and writing and how they all connect to each other. You can't have a good understanding of what someone is reading without listening also. You can't write without reading and listening. In order to be a good communicator you need to be able to effectively listen to what someone is saying, but also be able to read and have a better understanding yourself in order to write. I feel that the role of the first year writing course is to better prepare students to understand that if they read for class but not listen you can't be a successful student. In order to write a paper you need to be able to have a better understanding of the reading in the text but also to be able to understand what the professors are discussing in class.

The Cell

As I suddenly started to come to, I realized that I had been thrown in jail, not knowing what I was there for or what had happened I started to think of my night before. I started looking around, searching for any clue possible, as I began to pat myself down I felt something bulging from my pockets. What was it? Could it be a clue to why I'm in here? I reached in my pocket slowly, so scared and yet curious to find out what I had done, or been through that was so bad to land me in such a hole in the ground. I slowly pulled out a .22 caliber bullet shell, I dropped it in fear. Did I kill someone
?!? Did someone try to kill me?! I then realize there still more in pockets, I pulled out coffee beans and then there was a jar. After closer examination I came to realize that it had a red thick liquid in it, it almost looked as if it was Johnny Capitello's sauce. Then I looked in the sauce and realized there was ring in it, but not just any kind of ring, a silver pinky ring. Lastly there was a silver tin in the bottom of my pockets, as I opened it I put my hands in it and put the grease in my hair just as if the habit came to me naturally. It was just in that moment that everything started flashing back to me all in a giant rush. I started thinking quickly as I was pacing back and forth everything was coming back too quick for me to handle it all. I had remembered that cigar burning my skin piercing through my arm, I had remembered the wine being spilt, the gun shots, the flashes all coming back so fast that I knew I had to have been set up, out of rage I ended up collapsing.

Video

In this film it takes place in an elevator. The base line of the story is to show the diversity amongst everyone. One man that is definitely...
